Centralized
Voter File
The Secretary of
State's office now has available for purchase online, for non-commercial
use, the state's centralized voter file.
Under a law passed by the 1997 Legislature, the Secretary
of State is responsible for compiling and maintaining a list
of all the registered voters in the state. Voter registration
records are still kept by county election administrators,
who are the only ones who may add, change, or remove a registration.
The file maintained by the Secretary of State is updated periodically with the latest information from the
counties.
The cost for purchasing the file is a sliding scale, depending
on how many records are purchased.
