Treasured Montana Artist Statement

Each of my paintings starts with one of my photographs, which is altered into the imaginative vision that I have for its colors and shapes. When the vision comes to me, I enhance it by drawing and painting it in by hand. It’s a technique that I’ve developed and as far as I know, no one else is painting in this manner.

This art form is a big change for me. I’ve explored many forms of art in my lifetime always focusing on the realistic. While I still enjoy a variety of art forms I find this new approach offers me creative freedom which is most rewarding. I hope that you will enjoy this variety as I aspire to keep it going.
