Live Notary Classes

The Montana Secretary of State’s Office offers live notary seminars throughout the state. The BASIC CLASS has been approved for 3.5 CLE credits for legal professionals by the State Bar of Montana. The ADVANCED CLASS is only open to notaries who have held their commission for at least one year. There is no fee associated with these seminars, but class size is limited. Please read and follow these guidelines:

• Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  
• All attendees must register online. An admission ticket may be printed out but is not required for admission to the class.
  
• If you find it necessary to cancel your registration, or if you wish to be placed on a waiting list for a full class, please email our staff.
  
• No pre-registrations for future classes will be accepted before the registration period opens.
  
• Students in the Advanced class must bring their seal/stamp and journals.
  
• Refreshments are NOT provided
  

The 2012 Notary Conference in Billings on May 5 does not meet training requirements for new notaries.

The SOS Online course is available anytime and fulfills the training requirement for new notaries.
